Nutritional calculations

Nutritional facts and calculations are generated by an online Application Programming Interface (API), which recognizes ingredients used in the recipes’ website. Calculations are based on the serving input by the Saturday Foodie. However, the nutritional calculations and facts displayed on this website are not evaluated by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). These figures are estimates and they are intended to give the reader an idea of the nutritional profile of each recipe. The actual nutritional content can also vary depending on the brand of the ingredients, actual servings eaten vs what was suggested in the recipe, ingredients’ usage quantity vs what was written in the recipe, cooking method, etc. Although the author has a scientific nursing background and occasionally shares ingredients’ nutritional information to explain her preference for using one ingredient as opposed to another, she does not replace in any way your official healthcare provider’s advice. Moreover, the Saturday Foodie’s philosophy is to cook with whole and quality ingredients, but it remains the reader’s responsibility to make decisions for their own health and safety as well as using the recipes at their own risk.

Recipe outcomes

Cooking remains a subjective skill. The outcomes of a recipe depend on multiple factors such as the freshness of ingredients or brands used and their handling in the kitchen. In addition, the quality and state of equipment used such as, but not limited to, discrepancies in oven temperatures, quality of skillets, etc. or environmental factors such as, but limited to, humidity level, hot vs cold weather may play into the recipe’s outcome. The author is not liable, responsible nor assumes obligation for any adverse reactions to food consumed, misinterpreted recipes or domestic accidents (i.e.: kitchen fires).
